Gathering network system

This page provides an example of a Gathering Network solved using Maximus. The network is presented in the figure below. The example has three wells producing from the same reservoir. The fluids pass up the tubings, through the production trees and choke valves, and are commingled in the manifold. From the manifold, the fluids pass through a 5 km export pipeline to a nearby FPSO. This is a common example in the Oil & Gas industry and one which can be solved very easily with Maximus.

When solved from scratch (i.e. without an initial solution for initialisation), this problem takes a few seconds. When the problem has been solved before (see Life-of-Field Simulation, then a previous solution is used automatically for initialisation. This leads to a marked improvement in the speed of solution, meaning that successive solutions take about a second!
