Software Developer

FEESA are currently looking for a software developer to join the Maximus development team based in Farnborough, Hampshire. Strong numerical abilities coupled with an understanding of techniques for manipulating and storing large sets of numerical data are important along with experience in developing user-friendly interfaces. Experience in the Microsoft Visual Studio.Net environment and in interfacing disparate software applications together including databases, data historians, reservoir simulators, PVT packages and software licensing systems would be advantageous but not essential.

    We are always looking for top quality engineering consultants to be based in our head office in Farnborough, UK. We are interested to hear from new graduates / post-docs through to people with years flow assurance experience. One current role is for an experienced person who can demonstrate the ability to lead multiple consultancy projects.

    Your role would be to establish scopes of work, perform the necessary calculations / simulations, interpret the results, write reports and present to clients. The work is office-based with occasional travel, mainly in the UK with scope for overseas assignments in Houston, Kuala Lumpur and Perth.

    Our success is dependent on the quality of our consultants and ability to keep them happy with stimulating and varied work. You will be encouraged to take on responsibility and be client facing. You will be trained in the use of our tools and methods, would attend training courses / conferences as necessary and would be encouraged and supported to become chartered.

    Essential attributes we look for are: technically minded, strong grasp of mathematical problems and solution techniques, ability to write clear and easy to read documents, thinking through a problem with minimal help, thorough and organised. The ability to start from a blank sheet of paper, develop the strategy / plan for the piece of work and take it through to conclusion in a timely manner typifies the person we need. You will hold a minimum of a 2:1 in Chem. Eng., Mech. Eng., Physics or Mathematics from a good university. It is desirable that you hold a full driving licence.
