Maximus
Basic Phase Behaviour

For fully compositional models, Maximus is able to predict hydrocarbon vapour-liquid equilibrium behaviour using its interface to the MULTIFLASH thermophysical properties package. In addition, Maximus is also able to predict lines of constant quality inside the hydrocarbon phase envelope, thus giving an indication of the equilibrium amounts of gas and liquid present under given conditions of pressure and temperature.

Shown below is an example phase diagram which includes the following boundaries:

• Hydrocarbon phase envelope (bubblepoint and dewpoint curves)
• Lines of constant quality at 20, 40, 60 and 80 wt% of the vapour phase
• Water saturation curve
