This
example presents a fictitious multi-reservoir development consisting
of four separate reservoirs. The development has two main reservoirs
in the South (Pluto and Mickio) which contain the majority of
the reserves. However,
to the West lie two smaller reservoirs: Donaldo and Minnio. The development plan called for the rapid exploitation
of all of the reservoirs through an area wide ‘super-development’.
This
system has been modelled in Maximus and simulated for twenty years
of production life. The
total oil production rate at the FPSO was constrained to 125,000
bbl/d (circa 85,000 bbl/d from the Southern fields and 40,000 bbl/d
from the Western fields). The
predicted total flow rate, together with the flow rates from the
Southern and Western fields, are shown
in the second figure. The system maintains plateau production
for about 5 years dropping off at a relatively slow rate thereafter. Maximus takes just over 4 minutes to complete the 20 years of simulation.
